Meet Judge Jose "Joe" Fernandez

Since his election to the County Court bench in 2006, Judge Jose “Joe” Fernandez has successfully defended his seat in two consecutive elections. He, however, is not resting on that record and our committee is working hard to ensure that a great Judge keeps his seat in Group 13.
After his election in 2006, it wasn’t long before Judge Joe was elevated to a seat on the Circuit Court in 2010. He was assigned to the criminal division where he served until 2022. When he left the criminal division, he had been sitting in Repeat Offender Court also referred to as the Career Criminal division. He was charged with handling the most serious cases in the Criminal division. Known as a firm and fair judge, he was very trial-active and did not delay rulings or hesitate to rule on issues.
The probate division has allowed Judge Joe to research and write about issues that, to him, are new again. The issues in many of his cases stretch into related civil and family division cases such as paternity, spousal rights, and settlement approval. This allows him to encounter further legal issues and to meet lawyers in those communities.
The Committee to Re-Elect Judge Jose “Joe” Fernandez is confident that you agree that Judge Joe is a keeper. Please help us ensure that Judge Jose “Joe” Fernandez continues working hard for our community as Miami-Dade Circuit Court Judge.
